BYRON WRITERS FESTIVAL

2016 was a milestone year - the 20th Anniversary and they proudly presented a stellar line-up of 150-plus writers and thinkers converging on Byron Bay – our iconic coastal town that every August hosts Australia’s largest regional writers’ festival

The Festival Program continues to explore the importance and power of literature and debate in shaping our lives. It facilitates the all-important and age-old art of storytelling and nurtures the benefits that flow from tales and talking about life

Renowned for its sense of community and treasured by those who attend, the power of Byron Writers Festival lies in the evocative expression of real and imagined stories that strike chords and captivate because they are authentic, and told by exceptional thinkers, writers and communicators.

This year, photographers, architects, artists, gardeners, philosophers join more traditional storytellers to explore the myriad forms that stories take.

MULLUM MUSIC FESTIVAL

Mullum Music Festival (MMF) is a boutique festival held in November in Mullumbimby, a quaint but vibrant little town in the hinterland of Byron Bay, NSW. The festival has gradually grown from very humble beginnings since the inaugural event back in 2008 – a memorable year for Mullum with the refurbishment and renovation of the Civic Hall, the epicentre of the festival

The unique structure of MMF creates a special community atmosphere, adding a distinct and special flavour to the event, which festival goers hold dear to their musical hearts.

The action packed program is spread across multiple venues throughout the town. The use of existing structures is a very special aspect of the festival and reinforces not only the ‘roaming community’ vibe of the event, but also the sustainability of the town both financially and environmentally – two things which the organisers work very hard to ensure.
