CULTURAL EVENTS

The Byron Bay area is famous for festivals and music - just some of the festivals are the Falls Music Festival  at New Year, the huge Blues and Roots Festival at Easter, the Splendour In The Grass Music Fesival at the end of July, the wonderful Byron Bay Writers Festival at the beginning of August, the Bangalow Classical Music Festival in the middle of August and the Mullum Music Festival in the middle of November. In Byron Bay there are 3 pubs and several cafes and bars that have music most nights of the week, and also a theatre that has concerts and plays

ACTIVITIES

There is walking/hiking in several nearby national parks including World Heritage Listed Mount Warning. In the surrounding Nightcap, Border Ranges, Springbrook and Lamington National Parks, species of the sub-tropical and temperate zones overlap in a unique environment to provide spectacular rain-forest scenery with natural streams and brooks, abundant bird and wildlife. There is also the wonderful Tweed Regional Gallery in Murwillumbah about 45 minutes away and lots of smaller local galleries in Byron Bay. There is also boating, scuba, snorkelling, fishing, horse-riding, tennis, golf. And finally there is yoga, lots of yoga - Byron Bay is one of the world's yoga capitals

THE HOUSE

It is a large open-plan house on about 2 acres of lawn and trees. On the ground floor there is the master bedroom (with ensuite),  the lounge and dining areas separated by the open kitchen, a guest toilet and a laundry room. Up a short flight of stairs (15 steps) there is the 2nd bedroom, a large bathroom and a separate toilet. There are extensive timber decks at the front and rear of the house, the front looking out across the valley and the rear looking out across the sub-tropical garden. Other facilities: plenty of parking, Wi-Fi

SHOPS & EATING

The two nearest supermarkets are in Mullumbimby (Woolworths) and on the way into Byron Bay (IGA), both about 15 minutes drive away. There is also an Aldi and a Woolworths in Byron Bay itself (but parking can be an issue). Cafes and restaurants often have “BYO” (bring-your-own wine/beer). Check with them if you are unsure – some of them allow BYO wine but not beer and some charge a “corkage” fee by the bottle or by the number of drinkers (which can work out to be very expensive). There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in Byron Bay, most with terrible service!
